Magalie Vaé

Magalie Vaé is the stage name of Magalie Bonneau, a French singer born on January 6, 1987 in Gonesse (Val-d'Oise). She was the winner of the fifth series of the French Star Academy TV talent show.

Magalie Vaé grew up in Thillay, in Val-d'Oise, a small commune of 3700 inhabitants, starting in performance arts at a young age. In September 2005, while studying for her baccalauréat exams, she was chosen to be a competitor on Star Academy. Four months later on the show she ended up the winner, winning 57% of the public vote. This success won her one million euros to record an album. On 6 February 2006, Magalie left for Canada to record the album, produced by Rick Allison. The first single, Je ne suis qu'une chanson (I am but a song) was released 1 month later. Her self-titled album was released on April 3 2006.
