[edit] Mafia MMORPGs
Mafia MMORPGs are massively multiplayer online roleplaying games games in the Mafia genre. Players role play as mafiosi and work together in families or crews in order to compete for the highest possible networth. Networth is gained through collecting funds or smuggling items. Players and crews also have the ability to attack and steal each others assets. Mafia MMORPGS are traditionally browser based games that use the turn system to allow players to perform all game actions. Turns are awarded at intervals and different rates of turns given is usually determined by a players status as a free player, a subscribing player or a player who purchases packages of turns. Advantages are gained by the ability to use increased levels of bturns as that directly leads to the ability to create larger numbers of mercenaries and operatives. Mercenaries are the armed forces while operatives are hired and used to produce assets or funds for assets. Different games have different type of mercenaries and operatives but basically all games have the same functionality. Fighting characters and value producing characters. The simplicity of the technical gameplay allows all type of players to create social networks in the games. It is this social interaction where the strategy within these games truly exists. Diplomacy and team work, alliances and enemies are all determined by the relationship players have with each other. Truly the programming and the websites are the catalyst for mind games and social microcausms with all the complexities of real world competitions.
