I have been editing pages on Scottish historians, primarily those linked with the university of aberdeen and i have a recurring problem. Links to David Ditchburn (historian and senior lecturer) keep going to the page of an australian comedien called John Ditchburn. How can i prevent this and also get searches to find my David ditchburn. Please help.
- Put the page on David Ditchburn (historian) and disambig both articles. Xiner (talk, email) 23:38, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

How do I add the speedy deletion box to a page please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maelbrigda (talk • contribs)
- Hi, Maelbrigda. There are different templates available that can be used to tag an article for speedy deletion, depending on the criteria. You can find the list of templates here. Just edit the page in question, and insert the template at the top of the article, filling in any additional, required information. Feel free to reply here if you need any more help. —XhantarTalk 19:40, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi. Your Wild_Lettuce page seems to be redundant - most of the info here is present on the Lactuca page - could they be merged and/or redirected? --Tomhannen 21:42, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Tomhannen - Sorry i didnt check lactula - just the common name. It could be merged or deleted or whatever but as a relative newbie i dont know how Maelbrigda 21:50, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, I'll try and redirect to the other page if that's ok - not so experienced at this myself! --Tomhannen 21:57, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notable Old Gowers
Thank you for your help on the article. Much appreciated. The last task we have to do for now. An important one - is to double-check that no names in the master list of "all names" got accidentally "dropped" in the transfer to the alphabetical sections. Once we have done that - we can delete the "all names" list - and then it's done. After that it's a general matter of trying to improve the list - wikify names etc etc . But the hardest part has been done!! Thanks so much! Davidpatrick 00:56, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Q-Tex
The article Q-Tex has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 13:36, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] User:AlexNewArtBot
Hi Maelbrigda, as a WikiProject Scotland participant, please check out this this thread and consider adding the bot results page to your watchlist so we can manually update the New Articles page. There are some false results for the first batch, but I'm sure we can collectively tune the rules to improve the output.
If we get enough people watching the results page, we'll be cooking with gas as they say :) This looks like a great helper in finding new Scotland related material. Cheers. --Cactus.man ✍ 01:38, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Spam in Aware Defeat Depression
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Aware Defeat Depression, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Aware Defeat Depression is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Aware Defeat Depression, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
