"Madonna with child (Jesus)" seems redundant and awkward, as "Madonna and child" is well-known as a description of paintings of Mary with young Jesus, and the Madonna (art) article should clarify the matter for anyone who was uncertain. This is an aesthetic judgement call, but I would tend to omit the explanatory "(Jesus)" myself. -- Xtifr 04:48, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. I removed the parenthetical Jesus and made the child link to the Jesus page. Any problem with this new set up? Pnkrockr 15:53, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Clever! I like it.  :) Xtifr tälk 07:54, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Translation

Is "Maestà ("Majesty"), the Italian word for sovereign" correct? - I think it is the Italian word for "majesty". Johnbod 17:14, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

You are correct. "Sovereign" is "sovrano". Changed. Twirling 17:41, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
