[edit] Lyrics

Norwegian (original) English (translation)
Eg ser på det eg har skapt

og teller på liv som har gått tapt
Eg ser at det som før låg i vater
eg ser det er blitt skakt

Men tiå har vært snill
mot mitt håndtverk
Eg la ner stein for stein
Eg har stått på min terrasse
og styrt skutå beint

Eg har vært tøff mot min klasse
og knukket nogen bein
Eg har gjort mine grep
og holdt samvittigheten rein

Sving din hammer
til din papa drar deg inn
Trekk et rom nummer
men ikkje bland din med min

Maestro

Å Clementine, om du var min
og ikkje hadde lagt deg sjøl inn
Då sko du tatt del i det som blir
Flamingos dynasti

I look at that which I have created

and count lives that have been lost
I see that which before was level
I see that it has become askew

But time has been kind
to my handiwork
I lay down stone for stone
I have stood on my terrace
and steered the ship straight

I have been tough on my class
and broken some bones
I have done my ajustments
and held the conscience clean

Swing your hammer
until your papa pulls you in
Draw a room number
but don't mix yours with mine

Maestro

Oh Clementine, if you were mine
and hadn't committed yourself
Then you'd have taken part of what will become
Flamingo's dynasty
