[edit] Basque Portal?

Kaixo, I'm contacting you because you figure in Category:User eu, meaning that you speak some Basque. You must therefore be Basque yourself or have an intense connection with the Basque Country.

I am thinking that maybe was a good idea to create a Portal (or maybe a Wikiproject? or both?) on the Basque theme but I feel such kind of project requires more than just one person.

If you are interested, please comment in my talk page.

Enjoy, --Sugaar 10:30, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I (= wannabe polyglot) do (!)

...enough so, that when I read your User page (and of course your Babel boxes) for the first time, I immediately checked History for the Page to see if it had been vandalized, as I simultaneously reviewed appropriate avenues for action. Seeing who'd performed the edit, I realized that my concern was misplaced — but considered that even so, you might like some feedback. So here you have it. -- Deborahjay (resuming follow-up on what I came here to do), 05:44, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fukuyama (City) - Thanks!

Your thorough explanation was doubly welcome. I found the content helpful, but appreciated even more the considerations you noted in the particular context-sensitive use of language. I wish all translators were as conscientious!

For the record: in this present assignment, captions for a series of documentary photos about the early years of the Holocaust Education Center, I've decided to describe its location as "...Fukuyama, a city near Hiroshima," without adding any nomenclature qualifying the latter (i.e. prefecture vs. city). The pertinent aspect is "Hiroshima" as an instance of mass killing during WWII.

So thanks again, and I'm looking forward to seeing your editing in the future (and may be back with more queries as time goes on...). -- Deborahjay 08:52, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re. Stupid Question

Hey. Try using command <font color="red"></font> instead of span style. That should do it. You can also pick hundreds of colors here and e.g. use "#DC143C" for crimson insted of "red". I hope this helps. Regards,--Húsönd 13:31, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Japan taskforces

In order to encourage more participation, and to help people find a specific area in which they are more able to help out, we have organized taskforces at WikiProject Japan. Please visit the Participants page and update the list with the taskforces in which you wish to participate. Links to all the taskforces are found at the top of the list of participants.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for helping out! ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 00:43, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inquiry

Would you be interested in help expanding a series of Anime related articles? I need help from a Japanese speaking person to add material from Japanese sources. -- Cat chi? 17:40, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Remove

I will remove the deletion tag. However, you are to work on it, and give more detailed information. Consider using {{underconstruction}} if you are working on it. (I love entei (talk) 04:36, 23 December 2007 (UTC))

Judging by the broken links, and lack of information, it looked like a very poor article. (I love entei (talk) 04:41, 23 December 2007 (UTC))

The importance was hard to find. Considering the format, broken links, etc. (I love entei (talk) 04:46, 23 December 2007 (UTC))

It seem's you copied and pasted it from a site. Don't you preview articles before you submit them? Again, the article didn't look very notable. It was uncategorised, had broken Wikipedia links, and needed cleanup. (I love entei (talk) 04:54, 23 December 2007 (UTC))

I checked it again. It also looks like the article isn't verfiable, as there are no references, sources, or links for it. (I love entei (talk) 05:34, 23 December 2007 (UTC))

[edit] The Pérez de Lazarraga case

Hi, Madler. I think that if the problem is serious enough, you can go to WP:ANI and try to get the intervention of an administrator.

But if it's just an unintentional error, you should pedagogically write to the user in question showing him how Speedy deletion can only be asked for in certain specific cases 8which wasn't the case here, I understand). That he/she should have asked for AFD (regular deletion) or rather have tried first to communicate with the author to discuss whatever shortcomings.

My own opinion is that there's some people that just seems to have nothing to add but a lot to mess around... but guess it's just my opinion.

Anyhow, if the case is not serious, I would just leave it in a personal discussion. It's not likely that you get "disciplinary action" for an error nor that it will serve for anything. Leave ANI for really serious cases.

Btw, I'd suggest changing "Señor de la Torre de Larrea" by "Lord of Larrea Tower". There's no sense in having that title in Spanish. In fact, I think I'll change that myself.

[edit] Basque literature

I am Basque myself, indeed. And I think we should discuss in English if possible. Largely because of courtesy towards other contributors who might be interested in our discussion and also for transparency.

Have you checked the List of Basques#Writers? There are some Basque language authors already there, with their own articles or stubs. Others lack of anything yet.

It would indeed be very very interesting to create an article on Basque literature, specificaally on Basque-language literature. Sadly I'm not the most idoneous person to do it. For instance Lazarraga was totally unkown to me until a you posted in my talk page and I can't read Basque at a "dense" or erudite level. But I may be able to help with technical issues.

For instance, it could be useful to create a template of those that appear by the right side of articles. Check Template:History of the Basque people for an example (use edit to see the source). Yet it will need some consideration to make sure it's not too extensive. Well, just an idea.

Enjoy, --Sugaar (talk) 06:22, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:User cu

A tag has been placed on Template:User cu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 19:57, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spinning Dancer

Hi there! I'm not sure whether your account has been compromised, but the recent edit you made to Talk:The Spinning Dancer doesn't seem to be constructive, so I've reverted it. If you have any questions, please respond on my talk page. StaticGull  Talk  11:41, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
