[edit] Piracy Portal
Hello! Thanks for creating the Piracy Portal. I would like to help with it and was wondering if you wanted the Featured stuff to rotate every week or every month? Thanks and good job so far! Deflagro Contribs/Talk 13:54, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

- Well the Piracy Wikiproject isn't the most active per se. I think I am the most active in the project out of the lot. The thing with Portals is you can set up a queu (however you spell that) so it will automatically rotate to whatever you have set up for it. If you look at how to make a portal it says how. This is my first time workin on a portal also. Good luck! Deflagro Contribs/Talk 16:12, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well some of the stuff we don't have enough for for weekly! Like biographies and pictures. We may be able to shorten up the DYK and make that weekly and maybe also the Article weekly. The In the News part is sorta not worth it because there is so little news about pirates. We can keep it though. If you have not already, I really suggest you join Wikiproject:Piracy. - That picture would be good. Black Bart I guess we can do. Redbeard would be somethin we might wanna look into since not many know about him. As for article, why not the old Jolly Roger? I also listed this in the Community Portal as a new Portal seeking Contributers. It comes off that in 7 days. Do you want me to go ahead and name all the featured articles for August or just go ahead and put them in? Deflagro Contribs/Talk 17:26, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

We should probably start discussing this stuff on the Piracy Portal's talk, but while we are still sorting this out, I guess it's okay. If you haven't already you might want to look at Help:Variable for the date variables for changing out the articles and stuff. I created Portal:Piracy/Selected_article/Week_31_2007 but I think we might need to change that picture because it is the same as the top picture. What do you think? Also you didn't have to do Redbeard, Black Bart was fine with me. I was saying I think Redbeard should be one we do in the future. If you don't want to, I can change the coding Sunday to start of the new queue. After we do that I think we should have the discussions on the Portal's talk page. [edit] Defend Moscow Poster
I thought the colours on the original version were better - the dark purple made it seem more epic rather than the green. Do you know whether the actual poster was purple or green?--Miyokan 12:41, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:University of Washington Bothell seal.png
Thanks for uploading Image:University of Washington Bothell seal.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:R.P.D. (RE3).jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:R.P.D. (RE3).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:31, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I'm part of a group at UW in Computer Science trying to make editing in Wikipedia easier. I'd love to talk to you and other Wikipedians in the Seattle area about your practices. [edit] Image source problem with Image:Claire-Redfield-re2 render.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Claire-Redfield-re2 render.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 10:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
