[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Jamescaans1.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Jamescaans1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jamescaans1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jamescaans1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. SmileToday☺(talk to me , My edits) 21:15, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sockpuppetry case

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/MadDeafNut for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Rjd0060 01:56, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits and Wikipedia Policies

Hopefully now you know a little about Wikipedia's policy against sockpuppets. I have left a reply on the report page. And a suggestion: In some cases it is acceptable to use "alternate accounts", however it is usually best to make edits from one username (preferably the logged in account).

As far as the redirect that you kept reverting, that is saving the page from deletion. Outside the scope of the show, that character isn't notable. Which is why when the redirect is there, people will search for "AJ Cooper" and the page they get will be Las Vegas (TV series), where his only notability is supported. I hope you understand why the redirect is better. Also, if you didn't notice, one of the times that you removed the redirect, another editor did mark the page for Speedy Deletion. I removed that and reapplied the redirect.

One final note: If you are going to stick around on Wikipedia, you should make yourself familiar with the 3-revert rule. If you would have undid the redirect one more time, you would have been in violation of the policy. Just be careful in the future. Hope all of this helps, and hope the following helps too. - Rjd0060 14:40, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Rjd0060's comments above about alternate accounts are correct; most of our policies like 3RR apply per person, not per account. Don't worry if you forget to sign in before editing. Just try to keep track of what you're doing logged in and logged out. Cheers.--chaser - t 03:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:Las Vegas Character

A tag has been placed on Template:Las Vegas Character requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{tranclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 05:33, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
