This proposed WikiProject aims to verify notability of organized crime related subjects, expand stub organized crime related articles, and writing specific contributions (either in collaberation or by a single author) to requested organized crime articles

Biographies and other subjects generally follow standard Wikipedia "Manual of Style" formatting with few exceptions such as the crime family format originally established by User:ExplorerCDT (See Bufalino crime family).

Organized crime topics can be placed in a range of categories, ranging from ethnic groups to historical periods.
The subjects, defined as Organized Crime, include people, events, and related information on:
- Street gangs (from the early-19th century to present)
- Mafia/Syndicate groups and members (particularly of the 20th century)
- Criminal societies and similar organizations.
