Not being in Torrance right now to read the sign that's posted on the outside of the Marsh, I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty sure that the Marsh is mostly open to public entrance -- subject to a few restrictions preventing abuse of the land. At the very least, the gate on the north side is usually unlocked.

Did not see this when I made my changes. However, "off-limits to uncontrolled" is a confusing double negative; and following the "once was" with a statement about guided tours implies that controlled access is still in force. If not, you may want to add a direct statewment to the effect that public access is now either encouraged or discouraged to clarify your uncertainty - Marshman 19:37, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)
