This article needs an image (preferably free) related to the subject, such as a picture of the set or a film poster. A possibility for American films from before 1964 would be a screenshot from the trailer, as these are now in the public domain. Please make sure fair use is properly observed, or the image will be removed. See WP:Films MOS for image guidelines and assistance in uploading.

A plot summary needs to be added to this film article, or the current one needs to be expanded.

This article needs some serious clean up and rearranging.

[edit] Merging with New Adventures of Madeline

I agree with the merge. Both sides are about the TV series.219.93.44.71 07:59, 28 September 2006 (UTC) I can't believe this isn't addressed: Madeline appears to be an orphan in almost every respect with exception to the Italic textMadeline's ChristmasItalic text illustration which depicts her sitting under a Christmas tree with two parents and a sibling. The movie stating her as a "ward of the court" always seemed inconsistent with the books for that reason. Bemelmans did not complete that book, he died while doing the illustrations, and his widow and daughter finished it, to my understanding. Oh, and who listed the TV show character names, the only name I remember hearing frequently was Chloe, and that name wasn't even listed.Cbflagg 05:14, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

The first book of this series was apparently published in 1939. However, there are several references identifying its setting as late 1940's France. The implication is that the setting changed some time after the first book was published, but nowhere is this made clear, nor are the circumstances behind this change explained. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.74.79.161 (talk) 09:40, 8 April 2007 (UTC).

Image:Madeline-1939.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
