[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Made in the Dark cover art.jpg
Image:Made in the Dark cover art.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Points
Look at the use of commas, semi-colons and colons, and put the references at the end of sentences, and not in the middle.
There are a lot of quotations in the article; maybe you could paraphrase a few of them (because it makes it seem less of a fan page). Only here to help... :)--andreasegde (talk) 23:00, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'll answer here quickly:
- "Look at the use of commas, semi-colons and colons" - I'll fix the grammar :)
- "put the references at the end of sentences, and not in the middle" - I decided to attribute every quote used so that no information is challengable and so it's clear which source is being used where because in certain places I've used multiple sources that talk about one thing. Can we find a middle ground? :)
- "There are a lot of quotations in the article; maybe you could paraphrase a few of them" - I'll try to incorporate them into prose better.
- It is rough to hear it seems like a fan page but I do understand your comments are coming from a constructive place :). I'll take care of the points you've raised tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to look at it :). Seraphim♥ Whipp 01:27, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
I've been through the article and it's shaping up nicely.
- "Look at the use of commas, semi-colons and colons"
- "put the references at the end of sentences, and not in the middle"
- "There are a lot of quotations in the article; maybe you could paraphrase a few of them"
Have I done enough to create a GA article? Seraphim♥ Whipp 03:07, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] GA on hold
- "pop band, Hot Chip" - comma not needed here
- "in the week of 10 February 2008[2]" - generally, you need some punctuation under the ref, so here you could just move it to the end of the sentence. Also, interesting you mention UK and then Australia...didn't chart in the US or anywhere else more significant than my place? :)
- Yay! Someone using Metacritic! (Don't mind me...)
- "The second single to be released from this album" - just "the second single released" will do fine
- "and tried to make the album sound not "quite so homemade"" - you're using the present tense here, so tried --> trying
- "To achieve this, the recording of Made in the Dark took place in studio, live on stage and in a number of different environments.[6] The album was partly recorded in Joe Goddard’s bedroom as a duo with Alexis Taylor and then overdubbed with parts of the rest of the band playing." - can you reword this...it kinda jumps from "yes, bedroom" to "no, bedroom" and I'm jumping on the "OMG confused" bandwagon. :(
- In the "Hot Chip chronology" part of the infobox the albums shouldn't be in bold
- Try and paraphrase a bit more and quote a bit less in the Musical style section.
- "He also said that there was one track in development" - it's been released...which track was it?
- "so they do something they’ve "never tried before."" - this really doesn't need to be quoted
- You don't need to wlink to wikt:restless, etc...we know what that means
- "has been explained by Alexis Taylor" - just Taylor
- "that he has grown up listening to, such as Prince's Sign o' the Times and music that Joe Goddard" - "that he grew up listening to", and just Goddard
- "eclectic music has been his and Joe Goddard's first musical background and inspiration" - the source says "eclectic music has been our first musical background", so quote literally, using [his] if necessary
- "after guitarist Al Doyle, toured with LCD Soundsystem" - remove comma, just Doyle
- "Goddard has said, "it was a brilliant time" and that he couldn't move for 15 minutes and told Alexis who wrote down words to go with his experience." - ref?
- "Concerning lyrics of the album as a whole..." - this should go at the start of the section?
- "Taylor states that calling the album, Made in the Dark," - don't need commas
- Less quote more prose in the title section
- Merge the first few paras of the Kylie Minogue controversy section into one
- "planning to give Ready for the Floor" - songs go in quotes, not italics
- A few more review comments (from those listed in the infobox) would be good.
This is quite well done. Certainly excellent content. You should go for FA some time (if you've got enough time now that you're an admin!). Leave a note on my talk page when done with this. Cheers, dihydrogen monoxide (H20) 09:20, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- And btw, format the dates to Day Month Year per MOS :) Will (talk) 09:24, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- You can do it either way...depends on where you are. But you're probably right, being a pom and all. :) dihydrogen monoxide (H20) 09:32, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
