Talk:Madam & Eve

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page needs some work. Most of the text about the strip and its characters are copied from the comic strip's official website, as are the sketches. As it happens, I have copies of almost all of the books, and I might be able to make some contributions and edits. I'll see what can be done. --JohnDBuell | Talk 03:42, 25 July 2005 (UTC)

  • I noticed that as well and notified User:Dfantom in his talk page; verbatim descriptions could be at least borderline copyvio. He apparently tries to get permission for the sketches. (I do not have any of the books, but I do read the strip regularly). - Skysmith 09:04, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
  • The way things are looking with my schedule for the rest of the week, I don't think I'll be able to really add anything until I get back from a short vacation to visit relatives this coming weekend, so hopefully I can contribute next week, the week of August 1st. --JohnDBuell | Talk 19:55, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
  • Main body of article still needs work, but I've updated the book list with information from my own copies. --JohnDBuell | Talk 15:30, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
  • I've fleshed out some of the background information for the creation of the comic strip. Aside from Rico, I really have no idea where to find good biographical information about the other two co-founders of the comic. Still plenty more work to be done - main characters, recurring characters, and other situations would be a good place to go next. --JohnDBuell | Talk 13:21, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
  • Okay, short of having some more biographical background and some notes about recurring themes/situations (e.g. political satire a la Doonesbury) I think this is looking good. --JohnDBuell | Talk 15:10, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] name of article

Shouldn't the name of this article be "Madam & Eve" with the & sign? Gryffindor 21:52, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Actually, yes. --JohnDBuell 22:36, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] other characters

This article dosent feature the tokoloshes, the "little aliens" or abigail (ediths twin sister). however, it features the parktown prawns, which arent really characters. The "little aliens" come to earth and have to decide whether the south africans hav developed as a species, if not they will destroy them. The tokoloshes are small creatures from african folklore, they try to take the characters away at night if they dont have bricks under their beds. Im a south african, and I find it easier to under stand (meallies,bakkie,robot.)T.Neo 19:42, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

What about madam's psyciatrist? T.Neo 10:51, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Might be worth including him. Actually he is Gwen Anderson's second psychiatrist. The current one replaced an old white colleague who only appeared in one or two panels in a single strip. Valentinian T / C 15:16, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Not sure if the Millenium Bug is notable or not but I remember it as a somewhat recurring character. Valentinian T / C 15:20, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

I dont remember anything about the millenium bug as being a character, but it was featured in a strip or two. T.Neo 19:17, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
