Talk:MADtv (season 4)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I remember in an episode where Will Sasso won a walk on role for the show. He prepared some questions for the cast and asked Nicole Sullivan about the Bret Hart incident, asking if it were real or fake. Nicole remarked that he was there and insulted him. If this is the way it happened, perhaps it should be mentioned. (I do not remember the episode, it may of been in a different season) ~Tydamann

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:MadtvCast4.jpg

Image:MadtvCast4.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Please consider rewriting this section with a NPOV, not a fan's POV

"Nicole Sullivan did not appear in the first five episodes of the fourth season. To this day the reason is still unknown, although it probably is because of a possible sitcom deal Nicole had in the works that wound up falling through. Fans feared that Nicole had left the show for good. However, for the sixth episode of the fourth season (the show's classic Halloween special), Nicole's first episode back on the show, the show had Nicole's popular characters Antonia and The Vancome Lady make appearances to ensure that Nicole was sticking with the show."

Unless you cite references, speculation about Nicole Sullivan's sitcom is just that--guesswork. In fact, saying "to this day the reason is still unknown" why Nicole Sullivan did not appear in the first five episodes is tantamount to saying "I didn't bother to look it up."

From the same section:

"Original female players Nicole Sullivan and Debra Wilson introduced new characters: Latina bimbos Lida and Melina, while Wilson introduced Bunifa, a stereotypical portrayal of African-American women."

Indelicately calling Lida and Melina "Latina bimbos" and gingerly describing Bunifa as "a stereotypical portrayal of African-American women" doesn't work. Given Madtv's vulgar and politically incorrect humor, it's fine to describe Lida and Melina as "Latina bimbos" as long as Bunifa's character is also described as "banjee girl", "ghetto fabulous girl", or something similar.

I appreciate the hours everyone's spent chronicling Madtv's thirteen seasons. And let's face it, it's something only a fan would do. But try to remain a little more detached when describing seasons and actors to downplay the fan factor. Thanks. Kinkyturnip (talk) 07:13, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
