Madslashers - Informal name given to 1st Platoon Charlie Company, 2nd of the 75th Ranger Regiment
[edit] History
The name was assigned to the platoon when one of it's members was arrested for nearly killing a man with his own knife, after having been assaulted. This, in conjunction with PFC Billy Redwine's illegally importing switchblades from Germany after a training operation, led to a heated discussion between the Battalion Commanding Officer and the Charlie Company Commander. After being told the platoon was a bunch of "Madslashers" the name stuck, and has been carried ever since. Interesting to note is that Charlie Company, parent unit of the Madslashers was once referred to as Criminal Company, by Bravo Company's First Sergeant, 1SG Folino, a former Madslasher and Canadian Citizen. Folino and Sommer are both from British Columbia.
