Madoka Ozawa (小沢 まどか Ozawa Madoka?) is a Japanese AV idol and V-Cinema actress who has been called "a legend in the business."[2] She became known as the number one AV idol of 1997 after every video she released during her debut year became a hit,[3]

Madoka Ozawa was born 3 March 1978 in Tokyo[4] and made her AV debut with the Cosmos Plan label in December 1996.[5] Her debut video, Pure Love, consisted of four sex scenes. 18 at the time, the shyness of her performance was noted.[6] 18 Dream (August 1998) opens with Ozawa discussing her future in an interview, and while walking through streets and posing. The video continues with a scene in which Ozawa is fondled by an actor. The final third of the video has more interview, and moves on to a sex scene.[7]

Legend Of An AV Idol was a documentary-style AV describing Ozawa's adolescence, her early sex-life, and the story of how she became an AV queen.[8]

[edit] Retirements and come-backs

Ozawa made more than one attempt to retire from performing in AVs. Requiem was touted as Ozawa's farewell video, though she returned to the industry not long after its release. This "beautifully filmed" video includes scenes of her meeting, chatting with and eventually engaging in sex with a fan. Their sex scene ends with the actress thanking the fan for his performance.[9] Another "retirement" AV was Fallen Angel X, released in September 1999. The video featured Ozawa engaging in "acrobatic" sex scenes with multiple partners, and with her ex-boyfriend.[10]

In 2002, Ozawa made a come-back with the Moodyz company,[11] and in June 2003, Ozawa starred in another come-back AV, Look That Kill.[12]

[edit] Taiwan and final retirement from AV

In December 2002, Ozawa visited Taiwan for the first time in order to attend an automobile exhibition as a bikini model.[13] Her appearance at this event created such a stir with the public and media in Taiwan that she was invited for a second visit to appear before Taiwanese troops on Kinmen Island, the first time an adult performer entertained the Taiwanese military. Magistrate Lee Chu-feng welcomed Ozawa and predicted that her visit to the island would boost tourism.[13] During this visit to Taiwan, Ozawa was invited to appear in the promotional campaign for Kaoliang Liquor, and to serve as a model in a wedding dress show.[13]

In February and March of that year she was back in Taiwan participating in several entertainment and publicity events to heighten her public profile. She was offered opportunities to act in TV dramas, film, and to release popular music albums. With this increasing offer of mainstream work in Taiwan, Ozawa officially retired from adult videos in 2003.[13]

Back in Japan, Ozawa's career was the subject of a 3-volume Classic/Memorial series of videos from Cosmos Plan in 2004.[14]
