Madison Duarte is a fictional character in the television series South of Nowhere. Madison is known as the former queen bee of the cheer leading squad and the mean girl. Madison is played by Valery Ortiz.

Madison is the popular girl at King High School. She is the captain of the cheer leading squad and is dating Aiden Dennison. She was considering being friends with Spencer Carlin, but discovered that she was friends with Ashley Davies. After Spencer's friendship with Ashley she decided to be mean to her and calls both the girls lesbians.

When Glen Carlin moved to LA, Madison began having feelings for him. After she discovered that Ashley was once pregnant with Aiden's baby she was upset. The two then broke up. Though she broke up with Aiden, she instantly began flirting and dating Glen Carlin.

After breaking up with Aiden, Madison began dating Glen. The two began dating for a while and she even pretended to be nice to Spencer so she can have a good positive image to the parents. Though when Glen had an injury and lost his chance at having a scholarship for the right college, Madison decided to break up with him.

With Glen and Madison's relationship done, Madison ran back to Aiden. The two had sex, but their relationship was short lived.

[edit] Feelings For Aiden Again

When Madison began having feelings for Aiden again she tried to break Aiden up while he was dating new girl Kyla. Madison soon discovered that Kyla left town to visit her ex-boyfriend and instantly tells Aiden. Aiden doesn't react well and the two break up. Madison is happy and tries to flirt with Aiden, but Kyla and Aiden discover Madison's plan and Kyla and Aiden get back together again.

[edit] Her Life Becoming A Disaster

Being one of the most wealthy girls at King High School, Madison has almost anything she wants. That changes when her family loses their money. Madison then has to find a job. She then decided stealing from where she works and got fired. Around the same time she got fired, she was kicked off the cheer leading squad. Her parents sent her to a hospital so she wouldn't hurt herself. When she returned to school she became a loner.

When Madison returned to school, she had no one. Aiden reluctantly sat with her at lunch once, but other than that she was a total loner. When Glen asks her to the prom, she says she'll only go to have a good time and that it doesn't mean anything. When she goes, she has a great time with him. She even does something unexpected: she apologizes to Spencer and Ashley about constantly insulting them because of their sexuality. When the prom ends, Glen asks her if she had the good time she wanted. She says yes, and that the night is not over yet. However, a drive-by shooting interrupts the moment and leaves Madison's fate unknown.

Madison survives the prom night shooting, and when the new school year starts, she seems to be much nicer and more friendly towards everyone.

One day, Madison meets Jake, who claims to be a traveling blogger who has been all over the world. A connection soon develops. When Jake reveals that he can't dance, Madison agrees to teach him. After the lesson it seems that they're about to have sex, but Madison spots a camera in Jake's bag that is on. She slaps him, insults him, and leaves after saying "What are you, some kind of sex blogger?", and leaves in a huff. Later, she finds out that Jake has moved on to Kyla. She tries to warn Ashley, but Ashley refuses to believe her until she discovers Jake and Kyla doing a live net broadcast in Kyla's room.

In the mid season finale we learn that Madison is definitely leaving to go dance for Justin Timberlake. It is unknown whether Valery Ortiz will come back for the rest of the season, but most likely she will.
