Madison Academy is a private, co-educational school located in Madison, Alabama. It serves students in preschool through 12th grade. (Preschool - Pre-First are in "Little MA," while First - Twelfth attend school in the main MA building.) The school is affiliated with and endorsed by many area churches of Christ. It competes at the 3A level of athletics in the Alabama High School Athletic Association under the nickname "Mustangs".

[edit] Dress Code

Students of elementary and high school attending Madison Academy wear uniforms, or so-called "Spirit Wear." Unlike most school uniforms, MA has a fairly large selection of garments for both boys and girls. (ex. either pants or skirts for girls, button-up or polo shirts for boys) Each article of clothing is emblazened with the MA logo, and most garments consist of one (or more) of the school colors.

Children attending Little MA, however, do not wear uniforms, as it is commonly agreed that kindergarten is too young of an age to wear uniforms. Instead, they are allowed to wear their own clothing.

Friday wear
In both high school and elementary, Fridays are designated as a day for "Friday wear," i.e. non-Spirit Wear MA shirts. These may include organization shirts (ex. band, drama, softball), class shirts (attained during elementary and senior years), and other school-sanctioned events. These shirts help allow students to feel more freedom within the dress code, while still maintaining the uniformity that MA desires.

[edit] Basketball

The Mustangs have won three consecutive state championship in the 3A division.
