Madie Ives Elementary School is a primary school located in North Miami Beach, Florida, within Miami-Dade County.

On June 23, 2005, third-grade teacher Michael Garrison was arrested on suspicion of selling assault rifles to a convicted felon. On August 8, 2005, Garrison pleaded guilty to selling an AK-47, a .308 caliber assault rifle and a 7.62 mm assault rifle to a known felon, knowing that they would be used in violent crimes. Sentencing for Garrison is scheduled October 18, 2005, before United States District Judge Donald L. Graham. Garrison is currently in federal custody without bail, facing six criminal counts, up to 30 years prison time and a $750,000 fine.
