[edit] About

Madicon is a college science fiction and fantasy convention located at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. It is run by the JMU Science Fiction/Fantasy Guild and typically takes place during the last weekend of JMU's spring break. Madicon annually supports the Wildlife Center of Virginia with the proceeds from the convention's Charity Auction and a portion of the profit from the Art Auction.

Founded in 1991, Madicon provides a place for sci-fi/fantasy fans and enthusiasts to meet friends and share in their interests. Each year hosts both an Author and Artist Guest of Honor, as well as guests from various other fields, including: medieval re-creationists, LARPing groups and guests, representatives from the gaming industry, JMU staff and professors, etc.
