Since its founding in 1952, MBHS has been run by Vile parle Mahila Sangh The secondary high school is named after the eminent freedom fighter Shri Madhavrao Bhagwat.

MBHS has a library, a gym, a primary school and a pre-primary school for toddlers which is named as Shishuvihar. Most of the students are the residents of Vile parle though there are students who come from Sher-e-Punjab, Andheri and Jogeshwari The school has a five storied building and has a statue of Hanuman

The current Principal of the Secondary high school is Mrs Sophia Rajan and the vice-principals chair is endowed by Mrs Lele.
