Madewood Plantation House, also known as Madewood, is a National Historic Landmark in Napoleonville, Louisiana, USA. Built for the Pugh family in 1845, the house was originally part of a sugar plantation.[1]
It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1983.[1][3]
Madewood was featured in the movies, A Woman Called Moses with Cicely Tyson, and Sister, Sister starring Eric Stolz and Jennifer Jason-Leigh.[4]
In 2007 it was reported be an intended site of filming for Clinton Kelly's Mind Your Manners for TLC, The Learning Channel.
Today it is run as a tourist attraction and a bed and breakfast.[5]
It is located approximately two miles east of Napoleonville on Louisiana Highway 308.
