Madalena do Mar

Madalena do Mar is a parish in the district of Ponta do Sol in the Madeira Islands. The population in 2001 is 687, its density is 298.7/km² and the area is 2.3 km². It is located NW of Ponta da Sol and close to Canhas. The main industry is agriculture. It is connected with a road linking Calheta and Funchal. The Atlantic Ocean is to the south. The mountains are to the north. The parish of Calheta is bounded to the west.
