[edit] Iraq war

Hi Mackabean! I appreciated your edits on the 2003 Invasion page and I'm hoping you will consider helping out on the 2003 invasion of Iraq media coverage. I think it needs some serious structural work and you obviously care about improving such pages. If you have time, please consider giving it a look. Regardless, keep up the good work! Benzocane 18:09, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

If you want to delete something because you think it doesn't belong, fine, but calling it "largely unsourced" when it has plenty of sources is not editing in good faith. 75.18.200.11 00:18, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to the B&E project

I just wanted to welcome you to the B&E project. Thank you for joining! Do you have any special interests? Egfrank 20:34, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your enthusiastic response. It is always a pleasure to hear someone passionate about a balanced point of view. [edit] Subprime lending

Hi, Mackabean. I agree that the "subprime mortgage crisis" information on Subprime lending belongs on Subprime meltdown. In fact, most of what is in the "crisis" section of the former article is duplicated verbatim in the latter. We need someone to summarize the "crisis" section on Subprime lending and include the "main article" link to Subprime meltdown. I could give it a try, but the subject matter is not in my expertise. (I had just made a few formatting changes when I visited the article to learn about the topic.) I'm working on a couple other articles right now, but if I have time I'll stop by again. Cheers! Eseymour 16:36, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Right on!

Perfect, perfect. That is a subject that I'm absolutely positively interested in. Tell me what are your ideas?
--Random Say it here! 19:08, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey Mackabean what is up. Just though I would drop by and say hi, "hi." If you have any questions, feel free to ask. By the way, how is subprime lending coming along. --Random Say it here! 22:52, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Mackabean, thank you for your comments. I thought it was a clever find and was very pleased to see someone agreed. I plan to steer clear of Iraq for now. Thank you for your note. KAM 02:59, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Iraq is important, I'll put it on my watch list. KAM 03:19, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Multinational Force in Iraq

Hello Mackabean,

I think the idea you've proposed is a good one, and I'd be happy to help as much as I can. I'll get started on the section later today. --Buttockhat 11:01, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, I've made a start. I remember reading relevant information in the past about this issue, but I can't seem to find it. Still, I think we have a picture of the factors that motivated various governments to join the Coalition, and I've used as wide a variety of sources and perspectives pertaining to individual countries as possible. --Buttockhat 15:26, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Global perspectives task force

Hi Mackabean! Based on your outstanding work on articles relevant to the following proposal, I thought I'd let you know that I'm trying to get a task force going and I hope you'll consider joining me. This is what I posted on the Wiki Project Council page. I'm still not sure if we should make it a task force or an independent project. Either way, are you interested? Benzocane 18:21, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Global Perspectives Task force Hi, forgive me if this is discussed somewhere in the archive or if an extant WikiProject covers my proposal, but: I'm wondering if a task force specifically concerned with making sure global perspectives are represented in key articles would be an efficient way to counter the systemic Western, 1st world bias the WikiProject Countering systemic biaslists among its concerns. As has often been noted, many articles have sections (e.g. "media response") that only describe U.S. events/reactions. I would be happy to spearhead an effort to make sure global perspectives are included where relevant. Any thoughts or advice regarding such a task force would be much appreciated. Keep up the great work!Benzocane 03:43, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for visiting my talk page, Mackabean! I just joined the Task Force and am excited to help. Please don't hesitate to let me know if there's anything specific I can do.Cyrusc 22:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome!

[edit] Re: new template

I think you do need to discuss at the village pump about cleanup templates, and templates that are displayed on countless amounts of articles. You will have to ask someone else about which templates need to be discussed at the village pump first, because I am not entirely sure. But I also know that creating a template in your userspace (as a subpage) is free for you to do anytime (e.g. {{User:Spebi/Template}}). ~Spebi 23:26, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2003 invasion of Iraq

You're right, it wasn't well-integrated, but in those cases, if there's good information it should probably be incorporated into the text. Anyway, I thought you accidentally deleted a whole section instead of a few lines and admittedly I should've used an edit summary. It seems to me like the information is sourced though... Yonatan talk 07:36, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Iraq war question

Hi Mackabean! Wondering if you'd take a look at the Iraq War entry and tell me if you think the time line section should be moved to its own entry in order to keep the entry from sprawling into the unreadable. I've posted a note on talk. Also, you'll see I've been making some GTF edits on that page. Since you've been doing some great work for the community, I thought I'd query about your opinion.Benzocane 01:19, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Another task force?

Hi Mackabean! I've been checking out your edits that organize environmental information within entries and I think they're great. I'm interested in making similar edits. Given that we've already worked together on the GTF, I'm wondering if this is another possible TF in the making? Maybe as part of the Environment project? Do you know anybody else who might be interested? Perhaps other members of the GTF? Just a thought...Benzocane 20:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Mackabean, thank you for your invitation to the new task force. I am headed over there right now to sign up! Cyrusc 01:03, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Legality of the Iraq war

I added a {reflist} template at the end - it seems you forgot or didn't know to do this - so that now the references appear in full view at the end of the article. One of them looks very long and is unreadable. There might be a bug in the way you coded it; take another look and see if you can figure it out. Otherwise, keep up the good work! [edit] USA PATRIOT Act

I'd like to get this up to speed. I'm thinking of reorganizing the article, but do it in stages. I've started a proposed history at USA PATRIOT Act/History - only the background is done so far. I'm going to go through the legislative history, and also use a Washington Post story to fill in blanks. - Ta bu shi da yu 14:21, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MPTF

Hi Mackabean! Cyrusc (who is doing incredible work, as you've probably noticed, with the ERTF) is proposing a Money and Politics task force. Keep your eye out for his proposal on the Politics project page. I think he'd appreciate your support and I'm certainly excited about contributing to such a project. Mackabean,
Benzocane, who I see has preceded me, recommended you for this task force. I want to thank you for chiming in on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Politics talk page and supporting this idea.

Thanks for your interest in the Companies WikiProject. I have now made a further proposal on the WikiProject Business & Economics talk page to split that project, which would include the establishment of the Companies project. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:COC.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:COC.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not.
