[edit] Speedy deletion of Ray Flugger
A tag has been placed on Ray Flugger requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:48, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Flowmaster
A tag has been placed on Flowmaster, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

[edit] Re: Your question on my talk page
Hi Macdaddy,
Thanks for your message regarding Flowmaster. As for why I tagged it for speedy deletion, the short answer is that I often patrol new pages here at Wikipedia, tagging them for deletion when I think they need to be deleted, adding stub tags when I think they could be expanded and improved, and doing other small tasks designed to help them get off on the right foot. I saw the article on Flowmaster while doing this today, thought it read like advertising copy, and tagged it as such.
While you are certainly correct in saying that I could stop and help out, when patrolling new pages my goal is not to write every article I come across so much as it is to separate the wheat from the chaff--in the cases of speedy deletion, this process relies on the judgement of two individuals (the tagging editor and the reviewing administrator), so there is a decent amount of check and balance. Although I'm still not convinced that Flowmaster belongs on Wikipedia, the fact is that you exercised your right as an editor, worked inside the Wikipedia framework, and changed my mind about deleting it for the time being. I'll be watching your page to see where it goes and, if I think I can help out, I will do so. If I decide, after sufficient time has passed, that you can't satisfy the notability and verifiability requirements of Wikipedia articles, I'll nominate it for deletion and let other editors have their say.
As for help on writing your article, the best advice I can give you is to start by writing it in your sandbox before moving it to the main article space. I learned this very quickly after my first page was deleted, and it's served me very well. If you need any additional help, your first stop should be the links in the welcome template at the top of this page. And you should feel free to stop by my talk page with a question any time. --jonny-mt(t)(c) 09:23, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
