How'd I do the page? Long story - I'll explain later. — Rickyrab | Talk 15:40, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

<div name="Undeletion notice" class="boilerplate metadata" id="delete" style="background-color: #fee; margin: 0 2.5%; padding: 0 10px; border: 1px solid #aaa;">'''This page is not a candidate for speedy deletion, because: I am a nudnik.''' If you disagree with its silly undeletion, please explain why on its schmaltz page or at [[WP:BJAODN|BJAODN]]. If this page obviously does not meet the erotica for speedy depletion, or you intend to fix it, please remove this notice, but do not remove this notice from articles that you have created or desysopped yourself. Administrators, remember to check if anything links here and there (such as Amtrak or American Airlines) and the page mystery before having sex or horsing around, or doing some other wild thing.</div>

This set up the following box:

<font face="Times"> <h2> Hi, I'm Rickyrab the Nudnik. I'm a guy. I think. Let me check. Still not sure. Whoopie do. Does anyone want to give me a back rub? I haven't been around in a while, cuz I felt no need to. :) </h2>

This led to:

Hi, I'm Rickyrab the Nudnik. I'm a guy. I think. Let me check. Still not sure. Whoopie do. Does anyone want to give me a back rub? I haven't been around in a while, cuz I felt no need to. :)

Now for the tough part: making a table. First of all, set up the table characteristics (don't be afraid to experiment, using the "Preview" button):

<table border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" align="center" width="400 px" align="right">

Next comes the table heading: <caption><font face="Times"><font size="+3">'''(Name redacted)'''</font></caption>

And each of the rows. This is an old chart, and there are newer chart-making techniques out there on Wikipedia; see the edit page of List of dictators for such an example. For example,

<table border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0"><tr><td style="background:#efefef;" align="center" colspan=2> <tr><font face="Times"><td align="center" width="130px">Nudnikus Estus All of Us</td><td align="center" width="130px">Smiley Face</td></tr></table>

produces:

Nudnikus Estus All of Us Smiley Face

and so on and so forth. We come to another table, and here, the rows are arranged thusly:

<table><tr><font face="Times"><font size="+1"><td colspan="2" style="border-bottom:3px solid gray;" align="center">Rickyrab's [[motto]]s:<br> ''Nudnik''<br> ([[Yiddish]]: "Pest")<br> ''You learn something new every day''</td></tr></table>

which looks like:

Rickyrab's mottos:

Nudnik
(Yiddish: "Pest")

You learn something new every day

I tried doing this without "table" tabs, but it didn't work properly. Even then, it can be tough, for the table was originally meant to work as a whole; thus, my partial tables wind up incomplete. You can trace my previous attempts here on your "page history" (be sure to hit the back button on your browser to return to the current page).

Sometimes I used cut and paste. Indeed, the table had been cut and pasted from a page describing a country.

In the following example: Note the numbers following the number-symbols; those numbers (with the number symbol and the "and" symbol in front) are there to stand for letters not on your usual keyboard (by and large), although they are sometimes used on Wikipedia instead of the usual keyboard keys (I think it has something to do with consistency of appearance on other folks' computers, but don't take my word for it - ask someone else.) Be sure to put nowiki tags around those groups: <nowiki> ř </nowiki>

<table><tr><font face="Times"><font size="+1"><td>I hope to be ethical on Wikipedia... if I'm making mistakes, feel free to speak out (but, please, no deletions or reversions!) </td><td>Should something go here? :) Рабино́вич This is Russian for "(name redacted)"</td></tr>

To get the time of my last edit, I used the {{Now (simplified)}} template at Wikipedia template:Now (simplified).

The boundary between [[past]] and [[future]] was {{Now (simplified)}} at the time of the latest edit of this page. thus produces

The boundary between past and future was 06:43, June 14, 2008 (UTC) at the time of the latest edit of this page.

You may notice that I am generating links, as well. Instead of the typical HTML manner of linking, which looks like <a href="http://www.putyourlinkaddresshere.com"></a>, we have the simpler [[Wikipedia article]] for Wikipedia article links and [http://www.webpage.com Visible text] (there is a space between the address and the visible text) for outside websites.

Thus, I have a new [[Sockpuppet]]! [[User:Truthaboutreform|Truthaboutreform]] :) And another! [[User:Wikipedia is Anarchism!|Wikipedia is Anarchism!]]

translates to

I have a new Sockpuppet! Truthaboutreform :) And another! Wikipedia is Anarchism!

and [http://starbulletin.com Honolulu Star Bulletin] translates to

Honolulu Star Bulletin

A few more things. To get that famous picture of the nude woman, I looked up the Wikimedia image galleries (look up Wikipedia:Images or Images or some such item in the "Search" blank, and continue searching until you find something appropriate. Or feel free to take your own pix and upload it. DON'T USE OTHER FOLKS' PICTURES if they're not already in Wikimedia banks (unless you are SURE those pictures are in the public domain)! Reason: copyright issues lead to lawsuits. Wikipedia aims to avoid that. An exception can be made for fair use, whatever that is.) Even them, I made sure to limit the size of the picture to "thumbnail" (thumb) and specify where the picture is to go (on the right). Thus:

[[Image:Amtrak train.jpg|thumb|right|All aboard [[Amtrak]]!]]

produces (on your right, the picture and caption)

All aboard Amtrak!
All aboard Amtrak!

The Babel templates have become popular on Wikipedia user pages lately. The template code {{Babel|en|en-B|:UBX/1337-1|dolphin}} contains five spaces. The first space says "Babel" template, plus the number of languages you want to insert. "en" without a number says one is a native speaker of English. "en-1", "en-2", "en-3", "en-4"(is there an en-4? - check) stand for increasing levels of fluency in English. "en-B" stands for basic English; "1337" stands for leetspeak, and "dolphin" is a joke (I don't actually know how dolphins speak, but I put it in there anyway :).)

Thus, {{Babel|en|en-B|:UBX/1337-1|dolphin}}

produces (on your right and under the picture of the nude woman)

Wikipedia:Babel
en This user is a native speaker of English.
