[edit] Idoru
Anyone know if there's any direct connection to or influence on Gibson's novel Idoru (in which a rock star falls in love with and marries a japanese AI Idoru that has become self aware) that came out two years after this? I'm willing to guess that Gibson must have seen Macross Plus or at least been familiar with the concept behind it.
