According to my ecology book, and www.dictionary.com, macronutrients refers only to elements, not any molecules. Citizen Premier 19:43, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
- Curious. I was taught in health class that macronutrients refers to the compounds that the body needs in large quantities, i.e. fats, proteins, carbohydrates, water, etc. 68.115.4.162 19:37, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

actually, the macronutrients are N, P, S, K, Mg, Ca and Fe The micronutrients are Mn, Zn, Cu, Mo, B and Cl
