The article states the capacity of the Moss Rose as 6,028. The club's official site states it as 6,335, and other sources quote varying figures. Does anyone know the correct figure?

Talking of such matters, the article gives 7,002 as the record Moss Rose attendance for games involving Macc. However, both Saga of the Silkmen and the News of the World Football Annual give the record as 9,003, vs. Winsford United in the Cheshire Cup, 14th Feb 1948. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.154.123.175 (talk) 00:13, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Recent edits

Additions/changes in Macclesfield Town FC history (1907/09/11 and 1946), as well as list of Cheshire Senior Cup wins, are verifiable in contemporary newspaper reports, as well as in the definitive history of the club "Saga of the Silkmen" (Carnegie Publishing 2001).

[edit] No wins

As of 10/11/06, the club has gone 17 games in League Two this season without a win. Are they close to setting any sort of record yet, in terms of longest runs without a win from the start of a season?

According to the News of the World Football Annual, Newport County hold the record for the worst no-win start to a season, with 25 games in Div. 4 (4 wins, 21 defeats). Macc. are currently second in this league of infamy, as 16 is the next worst, shared by Hull City, Burnley, and Sheffield United.

Entry restructured.

To do list:

  • Work needed on the 'History' to deal with links, highlighting etc.
  • Biographies needed on George Abbey and Rob Bickerton.
  • An account needed of the club history prior to the nineties.

[edit] Current Players

Might be an idea to include a "correct as of: (date)" above the player list, as in this article, to confirm the last time the list was updated, so that player transfers aren't missed.. Beaver Patrol 18:23, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:Macclesfield Town badge.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
