The population figures are wrong here but Brazil is notorious for inflating estimates from concerts, soccer games, city populations, to carnaval. Most of the tourist action and nightlife is in Buzios which is about 30 miles away. But the town is one of the bright spots in the dismal brazilian economic picture for the average Brazilian.--- gringojack (still here and not going away!)
