Macon County Line

Macon County Line was a very successful independently financed movie, made in 1974. It is can be called a road movie and more specifically it falls in the "redneck nightmare" genre. The story revolves around two brothers (played by real life brothers Alan and Jesse Vint) and their one last joy ride before reporting for military duty. They pick up a young female hitch hiker before having car trouble. While stopping to have it fixed they cross paths with Deputy Morgan. From that point the twists and turns bring us to the unforgettable climax. The movie is known for the blend of humor and intensity.
Director Richard Compton also directed the sequel, Return to Macon County.
Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino mentions the film in an interview about his film[1], Death Proof.
The Special Edition DVD was issued on May 6, 2008.[2]
