Macheke

Macheke is a village in the province of Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe. It is located about 105 km south-east of Harare on the main Harare-Mutare road. According to the 1982 Population Census, the village had a population of 1,888. It was named after the Macheke River and means "you have divided". Tobacco and mixed crops is farmed place in the surrounding lands.
The village has Macheke Primary School, which is a prominent boarding school for primary students from all over Zimbabwe.
