Macenta

Location of Macenta in Guinea

Macenta is a town in southeastern Guinea, founded by the Toma people. Conquered by the French, it was attacked by Liberia in 1906. It is known as a centre for coffee- and kola-growing, and for smuggling.

It is the capital of the Macenta Prefecture.
