María Isabel Rivera Torres (born 1952) is a Spanish actress.
She was born in the City and Naval Station of El Ferrol, in Galicia, North-western Spain. Though she started her career as an actress in the 1980s it was not till the dawn of the new century that she achieved broad notice, for her lead actress role in the Oscar winning Best Foreign Language Film 2004 The Sea Inside.

This Spanish actress is not only brilliant when it comes to the performing arts but she is magnificent when it comes to mastering foreign languages as well. Apparently, she can speak fluently, not only Spanish, Galician and Catalan but English and French too though up to different degrees of proficiency.
