Ma'on

Ma'on (Hebrew: מעון‎)) is a place name that can refer to:

  • Ma'on (Basor): An ancient town in the Basor area of the Negev, southeast of modern Khan Yunis.
  • Ma'on (Judea): An ancient town in Judea, now in ruins as teff Ma'in, located 17 kilometres south-south-east of Hebron, and 3.5 km south from ruins known as el-Kurmul. The town is mentioned in the Biblical narrative of Nabal, and is situated just west of a steppe, which is somewhat of a wilderness.[1]
  • Ma'on (moshav): A modern Israeli settlement in Judea, near the ancient one whose name it carries.
