I can't really explain it better than that page does. Just look at the sections "Do not emphasize nationality without good reason" and "Not for use in locations of birth and death". Basically it doesn't enhance the article, it just shows a picture of a flag where it already states that he is from the United States, it doesn't need a flag to further emphasize that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Garion96 (talkcontribs) 19:41, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
In general, yes. Exceptions are there of course. Especially for sports articles, or long lists it can help the article, but in most cases it just clutters up the page. Garion96 (talk) 19:44, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
