[edit] Lanes

6 lanes wide mostly, 8 lanes for the middle part near Mays Hill and 2 lanes in each direction on both ends.

Yeah, but could you write it consistantly with what was already there? Saying it is "mostly X lanes wide" implies that it varies somewhat between Penrith and it's abrupt finish.Garrie 23:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Western Distributor

Do you have a reference for this (originally) being the start of the "F3"? I'm sure I saw an old street directory where it was listed as "F2", which makes sense in that it was also the North-Western Freeway, as admitted on this page already. As far as I know, the F3 would end as it joins the F2, and the F2 itself would run from Darling Harbour to Castlereagh. 203.22.17.215 04:17, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't know if it is possible to get access to old copies of the Journal of The Institution of Engineers, Australia as it was back then. There was an article in their magazine when the road opened, which clearly described it as the end of the F3 freeway. My understanding is that the article was based on information supplied by the then Department of Main Roads. --Athol Mullen 04:27, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
