[edit] History

M.W. Kellogg Limited (MWKL) was established in the 1930s, as a wholly owned subsidiary of the M.W. Kellogg Company and enjoys a strong worldwide reputation for hydrocarbon technology-based engineering, procurement and construction services within the process plant industries. A full-service organisation capable of handling world scale international projects from conceptual design through to commissioning & start up, MWKL also undertakes smaller projects, including studies. Individual services on a stand-alone basis can be provided. MWKL is able to serve the global requirements of the international hydrocarbon industries from the wellhead through to finished products. MWKL is a company with global reach, both in terms of clients and the work carried out, and can support projects in any location worldwide.

MWKL has been involved in numerous LNG and GTL projects, notably Woodside in Australia, Oman LNG, Nigeria LNG, Pearl GTL in Qatar and SEGAS LNG in Egypt. MWKL has also continued to consolidate its position as the world’s leading designer of LNG import terminals being awarded contracts for such facilities in Italy, Canada, China, Turkey, Belgium, Poland, Korea, Spain, Greece, UK and a peak shaving plant in Argentina.

In addition to LNG, other major projects have included Gas Processing facilities, Petroleum Refineries, Fertiliser Complexes and many worldscale petrochemical and polymer plants.

Success in the LNG field has been more than matched by major achievements in the related gas development and processing sector. The award by Norske Shell in 1992 to MWKL in JV with Aker Engineering of Norway, of the full design, supply and construction of the Troll Terminal project in Norway was a major milestone, as was the successful completion of this facility, the world’s largest of its type, on schedule and within budget, in 1996. This success was followed by several subsequent awards of equivalent sized expansions of Statoil’s gas terminal at Karsto, also in Norway.

MWKL has been working with Statoil for almost a quarter of a century and has completed numerous studies and pre engineering packages during this period for a number of sites including the Mongstad and Kalundborg refineries, Tjeldbergodden, Snohvit LNG as well as the aforementioned Karsto and Kollsnes sites. MWKL continues to provide support as Statoil looks to expand into the international arena,
