M. B. Sreenivasan

MB Sreenivasan(1925-1988), or MBS, as he was popularly called, was a famous Malayalam music director.

Born Manamadurai Balakrishnan Srinivasan in 1925 in Chithoor, Andhra Pradesh. He was attracted to communist ideals and joined the Madras Students Organisation while at Madras Presidency College. He played a major part in the formation of Indian Peoples Theatre Association (IPTA). He was married to Zahida Kitchlew, a Kashmiri Muslim. He died of a heart attack in the Lakshadweep islands in 1988.
