m1dy, real name Yosei Watanabe, is a Japanese speedcore/hardcore techno artist. He has been composing since some time in 1998, where he was associated with the record label Hyper Rich and known as KAKUSEIKI THE MIDI ANARCHIST. The name derived from the music file format of the same name, which later changed to simply m1dy. He cites his inspiration as the founders of speedcore, Disciples of Annihilation, as well as other speedcore producers such as Delta9.^[1] He has been known to also use the alias m2dy.

He is mostly associated with the Japanese hardcore artist DJ Sharpnel, due to m1dy regularly appearing at live raves along with Sharpnel and releasing 2 albums under the Sharpnel Sound label, one of which was a collaboration with Jea under his Killingscum alias. He has his own record label, PORK, which he has used to release his own albums with as well as one album by DJ Schwarzenegger.

While m1dy is generally hardcore techno/speedcore in style, he has been known to deviate from this and produce more drum 'n' bass/J-Game song remix styled work, usually including a female singer. This is most evident in the works he has released under the Nihonkokumin label. His earlier works tend to be more aggressive in style also, while newer tracks such those included on Perfect Mathafacka seem to be slightly more tuneful.
