[edit] photo galleries
I have reverted the change you made to add a link to a photo gallery. The Edinburgh article does have a big selection of links and these need to be reduced. WP:EL describes the policy on adding external links, thanks/wangi 17:51, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
I've also reverted your other additions - please see WP:ISNOT. We would be grateful if you would upload relevant photos under a suitable licence for use on the encyclopedia, but please do not spam your site. Thanks/wangi 17:56, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- reference
- Sorry about deleting the other link on Trams, I've now added that back. As I said before if you want to improve our encyclopedia then the best way to do so would be to upload a number of photos (tagging them with a suitable licence allowing Wikipedia commercial use of them) and then insert them into the articles. Please drop me a note if you plan to do this and I can help you out.
- You might want to read Wikipedia talk:External links#Links to collections of photos which is one dicussion about this issue (no doubt there are many more). If you still think your links are suitable then perhaps the best course of action would be to post a question on the articles talk page asking the other editors of the article if they agree?
- Like yourself I've many galleries I could link (http://www.pbase.com/wangi), but I do not think it's appropriate and if I do have a unique photo that can add to an article I'll add it to Wikipedia explicitly. Thanks/wangi 18:35, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
