[edit] Re: Muttahida Qaumi Movement

I'll admit some of the changes you've made actually bettered the article, but quite a hefty amount of content you removed was already written in a neutral point a view. When making such large edits to an article, it's generally encouraged to discuss such changes on the article talk page prior to making the edit. Also, summarizing your edit in the edit summary while making the change is also proper practice. — Dorvaq (talk) 18:32, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright status of The Independent Center for Strategic Studies and Analysis

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to The Independent Center for Strategic Studies and Analysis. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://icssa.org/themes.php?pg=2 in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:The Independent Center for Strategic Studies and Analysis with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:The Independent Center for Strategic Studies and Analysis with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:The Independent Center for Strategic Studies and Analysis saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Look at the work I carried out on Altaf Hussain, before you accuse me of Bias, the infobox, references etc were all put there by me. I don't allow any swearing etc, so please don't be so patronising. Good luck.Shehzadashiq 19:10, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

If you do not desist from Vandalism on the MQM and Altaf Hussain pages I will be forced to report you for vandalism. If there are any issues that you believe need addressing then please discuss them.Shehzadashiq 12:53, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:AltafHussainSmallPic.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:AltafHussainSmallPic.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Altaf Hussain & MQM

If you can contribute positively please do do so. However posting the asiaweek article ad verbatim is not only copyright violation but also disrupts the article flow and is non encyclopedic. The asiaweek article has already been refenced previously and can be checked as refernence number 10.Shehzadashiq 08:57, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Altaf Hussain. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. HalfShadow 04:57, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

You're asking the wrong guy here. I don't know who's right nor, to be honest, do I care. I'm smart enough not to get involved in political stuff. Also, I'm not an admin. But 3RR is 3RR and edit-warring is edit-warring and you're doing both. HalfShadow 05:22, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
On http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets/Shehzadashiq didn't we agree to work together? I haven't changed any of your edits yet so what do you want to do? Do you want us to work in partnership or do we have to go back to editing things? If possible why not edit the talk page, notify me and then we can discuss it civily. After all it is nearly 14 August :)Shehzadashiq 15:29, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Shehzadashiq: I suggested the sub-conditions, primarily as a more focused gameplan. If you agree to the above gameplan, and convince Muamshai to stop whining, then we can definitely work together and hopefully have better readable pages, not only on MQM and Altaf Hussain, but other important pages related to Pakistan. Thanks. M12390 16:34, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately I cannot speak for anyone but myself, however do try to speak to Muamshai and see what he says.Shehzadashiq 16:54, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] kidnaping army officers

why are you removing this important topic and the pic from MQM page.7day 06:56, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, I did not remove the kidnapping information. The picture is irrelevant, and serves no purpose. Why is it there? M12390 06:43, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

the pic shows many MQM leaders so it is relavent7day 12:39, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Mustafa-Kamal-8-21-2007-2.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Mustafa-Kamal-8-21-2007-2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] License tagging for Image:ImranKhanQaziHussainFazlurRahman.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:ImranKhanQaziHussainFazlurRahman.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Speedy Delete

Please do not make personal attacks as you did at Taliban Supporters. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images, especially those in violation of our Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy, will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. Thank you. test Neutral Ray 03:11, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Don't do that

Don't plant typical newbie templates on a long-time contributor as you did here. It's insulting and foolish to tell established users to "take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia." In fact it's a really bad idea to use a template at all, to anybody, when you want to discuss a content disagreement. Talk in a human voice. Please. Bishonen | talk 11:29, 27 August 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Defamatory material warning

Please stop. If you continue to add defamatory content, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Personal websites, such as the one you cited for your criticism of Imran Khan, are not reliable sources. -- ChrisO 23:53, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

ChrisO, which "personal" website have I cited? Refain from making unsubstantiated comments.M12390 01:25, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

The information that you continue to add and readd to WP articles are not appropriately sourced, given the BLP and other legal issues. None of the references you have provided prove the very serious, potentially libellous claim you make. For example, please note the word "might" in the Asian Times article. --Slp1 02:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Slpi: I am not sure what kind of "sourcing" do you require. Start counting:

"US should keep it in mind if it dared to attack holiest places of Muslims, it will stand effaced on the map of world, he warned. Over one billion Muslims will become suicide bombers across the world in the event of US attack, he added." Online News [1]

"Had I been a Waziristani, I would have been doing the same that the Waziristanis are doing against the Pakistani security forces." [2] Note: This could be considered "treason" against the State of Pakistan.

"President George Bush is #1 terrorist of the world" [3]

“Various Tribal Heads from FATA have rigorously protested against Muttahida Quami Movement over the statements from the leaders of MQM against the Head of Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Imran Khan and have said that by making these statements against their beloved hero Imran Khan, MQM was making mistakes over and over again, and that by doing so MQM would eventually alienat itself in the politics. These heads of the tribes were addressing “Lui Jirga” at North Wazeeristan last Saturday. This Jirga was attended by heads of the tribes, elites, and general public from South and North Wazeeristan, Kurram Agency, Orakzai Agency, Bajore Agency, and FR areas. Those who addressed the Jirga summoned MQM that it should realize that over 10 million warriors from these tribes were with the “National Hero” Imran Khan and if somebody would dare to harm The Khan, would bear the grave consequences in retaliation from tribes. They further warned MQM that if it would not change its course, protests on large scale would be staged in tribal areas and NWFP.” Translated text of Urdu news from Jasarat May 27, 2007 [4]

What other kind of "sourcing" do you need? You have no leg to stand on. Sso please revert my version. It is fully sourced and substantiated. Thanks

Admins, please take notice of Slp1 unsubstantiated reverts of fully sourced text. M12390 04:40, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I (and others) do not agree that the sources you provide adequately support the very serious claim you are making about a living person. In cases like this, editors are required to remove inadequately supported text and that is what has been happening on multiple articles. In view of your comments and source list above, I would suggest reading WP:BLP, WP:V,WP:OR, WP:SYN and WP:RS for more information about the policies here so that you do not run into these kind of problems in the future. In brief, however, you will need better sources (more of them and more mainstream as "exceptional claims require exceptional sources" see [5])a, and to avoid original research (including synthesis) if you wish this claim to be included in the article.Slp1 14:10, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re George Galloway and Hansard

Hansard is the documented record of the debates of the British Parliament, and not a collection of "opinions", involving the elected representatives of the nation. It is a very reliable source, and should not be removed. You are welcome to supply your own references for the Altaf Hussain article, but please do not remove others you disagree with. Further, the charges against George Galloway have not been proved. FYI, WP:BLP only covers unsourced allegations, not cited ones. LessHeard vanU 20:22, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

LessHeard vanU, a member of parliament could be lying through his teeth in a debate. The following, which was fully referenced to a United States Senate finding, was removed by RolandR:

MP George Galloway, who knowingly made false or misleading statements under oath before US Senate on May 17, 2005, and knowingly made false or misleading statements under oath before a British Court[1]

What do you have to say about that?

As far as I am concerned, either you take both as fully-referenced, or remove both as libel. M12390 04:02, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

The statement by the US Senate was quoted in the article about George Galloway, where it was indeed relevant. It was located in context, and Galloway's response was also noted. It is irrelevant in an article about Altaf Hussain, and was presumably only included in order to smear Galloway. . If you wish, and are able, to provide a rebuttal of Galloway's statement in the House of Commons -- including any response by Hussain himself -- please include this in the article. RolandR 09:20, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:AltafHussainSmallPic.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:AltafHussainSmallPic.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:16, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
