[edit] Biography

When someone is determined, in their mind, there is no limit to what they feel they can accomplish. When someone is determined, talented, and willing to demonstrate true sacrifice, in reality, there is no boundary for their success and growth to excel. M-Dot possesses all these traits. The full-blooded Italian MC hailing from Boston writes, records, edits, and mixes his own music, makes his own flyers, creates his own web design, edits his own videos, and amazingly has booked and performed over 70 shows in the last 11 months (with no booking agent or promoter). He has shared the stage with Hip Hop elite Joe Budden, Akrobatik, Cormega, Pharoahe Monch, Krumbsnatcha, and more. Beantown’s newest son has performed in Wildwood, NJ, Montreal, Canada, Pittsburgh, PA, Long Beach, CA, even Ariano Irpino, Italy in the summer of 2007. Again, all this with no budget, label or management. “Promoters weren’t returning my phone calls, plus Boston was somewhere I felt that MC’s had become complacent in peaking at, so I wanted to expand to other states,” M-Dot remarks from his Lynn, MA home were he now resides.

Ok, so the kid performs a lot, what about the music? After recording and releasing 8 mixtapes within the last 2 years (all maxing out at 23-25 tracks and 80 minutes per CD), he is in the midst of releasing something he hopes will get him even more exposure in the hip hop community. “I’m currently picking through about 50 songs, as well as recording more songs for an album (yet to be titled) hopefully, out by next spring.” M-Dot is working so hard to release the CD without rushing it, but time is of the essence, he is facing serious weapons charges and could do up to 2 years (a lifestyle he has never once promoted). Currently, the album features collaborations with Krumbsnatcha, Termanology, Agallah, Akrobatik, Joell Ortiz, Edo G, Reks, plus many more of the biggest names and legends of hip hop. The highly anticipated CD boasts production from 7L, D-Sharp, DC the Midi Alien, Karimbo, Domingo and many more. This list is only current as of this interview; M-Dot still plans on finishing up records with a few more names that may catch you reading the album credits twice.
