[edit] Route description

M-138 begins at a junction with M-15 just west of the community of Munger. Known locally as Munger Road, the route then heads due east through agricultural fields until reaching Fairgrove where the road turns north onto Main Street. After a three mile journey the road turns back east for its final leg as Akron Road, traveling through the community of Akron before terminating at at M-24, Unionville Road.

[edit] History

Prior to the completion of the M-24 extension in 1997, M-138 had continued from its present day terminus, northerly, on Unionville Road until a junction with M-25 in Unionville. The route had been designated as such since 1939. With the opening of the new section of M-24, the terminus of M-138 was scaled back to its present day location just east of Akron.
