Mónica Janett Santa María Smith, (6 December 1972, Miraflores District, Lima, Perú) was a Peruvian model and TV host. She was born in Lima, Peru, and became very popular when she hosted the known Peruvian TV show Nubeluz. Daughter of Danilo Santa María and Judith Smith, canadian citizen. She was the second daughter of the marriage Santa María - Smith.

She went to school "Colegio Nuestra Señora del Carmen", known as "Carmelitas", located in Miraflores.

Because of her beauty and outgoing personality, she was chosen to do commercials in her childhood and teens. Because of her beauty, she also became a successful model. At 9 years old, she started her career as a model by starring her first TV commercial. At the age of 11 she starred a comercial for a shampoo named "Ammen", which is remembered till today. When she turned 13, she became the main model for the Peruvian cosmetic company Yanbal, Unique today. In this job she met Almendra Gomelsky who would be her friend for 8 years.
