Please keep this page because Attiyyih Rouhi was my grandmother. I remember her telling me most of this biography of Sobh-i Azal when I was a kid. Her source was her parents and grand parents who traveled to Cyprus. They were in touch with most of the Sobh-i Azal’s family through Cyprus, Lebanon, and Israel etc. She also travelled to Cyprus frequently to look after the Sobh-i Azal’s graveyard, which I am desperate of find out the address so I can pay respect to her beloved grandfather. I think she told me once that Sobh-i Azal’s son in Famagusta gave her grand dad a lot of information. Edward Brown also met up with him. She also had a large collection of manuscripts written by Sobh-i Azal and works by many other Babi followers including Aghakhan-i Kermani, Sheykh Ahamd-i Rouhi etc. Most of these documents were of prime Babi value. When I was in my late teens I used to help my grand dad, Ali Rouhi to catalogue those books. My mother kept the card catalogues and I am hoping to get time to look for them. It is believed in the family, these manuscripts were sold out of greed by her only son, Keyvan [real name Hormoz] Rouhi with no trace of them. Unfortunately we don’t have access to these sources any more! Regarding the Bayanic website, it has a lot of mistakes. For example the family tree of Sobh-i Azal has mistakes in transliterations, names, relations etc. It is based on a family tree that my grandmother Attiyyih Rouhi devised and made copies. I have one of the copies. I have been trying to find the contact for this website, but had no luck.
