Mário Fernando Magalhães da Silva (born Paranhos, Porto, 24 April 1977), commonly known just by Mário Silva (pron. IPA['maɾiu 'siɫvɐ]), is a Portuguese footballer who currently plays in Boavista FC as a left defender, having grown through the ranks of the northern club (1993-2000). Also played for FC Nantes (2000-2001), FC Porto (2001-2004), Recreativo de Huelva (2004-2005) and Cádiz CF (2005-2006). Enjoyed his best years while at FC Porto, playing second fiddle to Nuno Valente on a side that won the UEFA Cup 2002-03 and the following year's UEFA Champions League.
