Málaga Club de Fútbol B is a Spanish football team based in Málaga, Andalusia. They will play the 2008/09 season in the Tercera División - Group 9. They are the reserve team of Málaga CF. Unlike in England, reserve teams in the Spain play in the same football pyramid as their senior team rather than a separate league. However reserve teams cannot play in the same division as their senior team. Therefore the team is ineligible for promotion to the Segunda División, the division in which Málaga CF currently play. Reserve teams are also no longer permitted to enter the Copa del Rey.
