Lyubertsy

Lyubertsy (Russian: Люберцы́) is a city in Moscow Oblast, Russia. Administrative center of Lyuberetsky District.
As of the 2002 Census, the town had a total population of 156,691. Lyubertsy was founded in 1623, and it became a city in 1925.

Lyubertsy is becoming a favourite scenic city. It features two ponds, with sandy beaches and a recreational zone. Lyubertsy is a popular location to relax for Moscow residents.

Lyubertsy is a major industrial center. There are more than 25 industrial enterprises and a large railway junction. Prevailing domains are mechanical engineering, metalworking, production of construction materials, woodworking and food processing.
Among the largest enterprises are:
- Kamov company. Ukhtomsky Helicopter plant named after N. I. Kamov (developer of the world-famous Ka-50 "Black Shark" and Ka-52 "Alligator" helicopters)
- Ukhtomsky machine-building plant, making equipment for raising livestock
- "Torgmash" joint-stock company produces manufacturing equipment
- A construction materials plant
- "Lyuberetskye carpets" collective
- "Belaya dacha" agricultural processing plant, a supplier for McDonalds
