Lyon Internet Exchange, better know as Lyonix, is the GIX located in Lyon, Rhone, Rhone-Alpes, France.
It offers services for providers in Lyon to exchange traffic and increase quality of the bandwidth use.
Lyonix is managed by a non profit organization (French Association Loi 1901). It operates two points of presence. It's the first exchange point in Lyon. Two Cisco 6506 are supporting the service. Lyonix has a 365/24/7 NOC and manage services for its members such as VLans... It has large (such as FranceTelecom or NeufCegetel or Renater) and small local members...
It started in 2001 and a new impulse was given at the end of 2006 when Lyonix received funds from the Greater Lyon and the Rhone-Alpes Region.
Some private partners helped Lyonix in the past years such as IBM or Accelance.
